Lousy weather and little time, so I turned the garage into a workshop and installed the Brunton p70 compass onto my new Cetus MV. I used the usual technique with a string to align the lubber lines. I caulked with a metallic gray premium waterproof silicone caulk made by GE.
Next, the pump.
Paddle safe...

Your compass seems closer to the cockpit than mine. I would like a rail along the length of the deck that would allow the compass to slide for and aft. It would be calibrated in years of age.
It is actually far away so I don't have to look down to read it. May I suggest glasses? :-)
Thanks, I havent heard about the brunton compass before. I need a compass for my new kayak.
The Brunton is what is on my Romany and has lasted for many years. It is easily available in the USA.
