It's Over and... It Was GreatCongratulations to Rutabaga and "Boss" Nancy on another great Canoecopia. Still recovering from long hours on my feet, I will, during the upcoming week, be posting pictures and comments on my impressions of the event. It was, of course, mostly (for me) about boats. But is was about dreaming and wishing, as well. For some, it was a new experience, perhaps their first with a kayak. For many, it was a family affair, or a chance to hang with DadThere was something for everyone, and I'll point some of that out this week.

Paddle safe...

I'm looking forward to seeing all your new kit reviewed here in the weeks ahead! You did buy stuff, didn't you? ;-)

Actually, I just bought a new skirt (Seal). The Black LV Nordkapp with red deck lines and red trim went to someone else :)

Everyone I talked to asked me if I saw the black Nordkapp on top of the roof rack in the lobby. "The one with the 'sold' sign on it since Friday?" was my response. Nice boat. And great to meet all of you guys also.

Andy from GRO told me that the LV Nordkapp we speak of sold within minutes of the show opening--literally minutes!

And one of our SKOAC guys literally ran over to the Valley booth and snapped up the Anas Acuta with the keyhole cockpit. I didn't even get a chance to sit in the damn thing! I hope to get a chance to play in it this summer however, as well as Alex's Nordkapp LV.

Silbs, the last picture is a picture of myself and my son Lucas, while checking the LiquidLogic booth. It's a very nice picture, and I didn't even notice when you took it !

We both attended Dubside's presentation , and Lucas listened and watched very attentively during it, and clapped when everybody's clapped (he will definitely be a kayaker !)

I have a website/blog at varotto.org where sometimes I post kayaking related items (less lately since becoming a dad). You might want to check our pictures on building two Pygmy Artic Tern kayaks at http://www.varotto.org/gallery/arctictern/

Hugo, thanks for checking in. I can't pass up a father-son pic like that. If you'd like, I can e mail you a decent sized jpeg of the photo for you to fool around with.
