One Day, A Little Voice Said,
"Cheer up, things could be worse,"
So, yesterday, I Cheered up.
Today, things got worse. The chill factor this morning is -5F!, and it's only early December. Oh, by the way, snow is expected. And the Blazer needs a new door hinge and a new gas cap. And the the freaking little voice is still telling me to cheer up.

The good news is that I may have some speaking engagements in warmer climates, Like Atlanta in March. That, however, is a long way off. For now, I have to dress right and get out on the lake when I can.
I don't know if there will be pool sessions this year. The YMCA facility we have been using is now under private management. Hopefully, there will still be time and energy for get togethers for winter group therapy.

On the bright side, the launch sites aren't so crowded just now...
...and there is always the medical cure for the mid winter blues: Chocolate

Paddle safe...

ah, what good is cheering up? Happiness is the death of creativity. .

Just look what happened to Billy Joel when he met Chrisy Brinkley. . "Uptown Girl??" You've got to be kidding!! LOL! Sadly when she left it just made him happier. . another career down the tubes.

Winter provides so many wonderful photos that you can't get in the other seasons. Opportunities abound!!!! Perhaps we three can get together for some whisky this winter (and use Derrick's pool before consumpution).

I'm trying to figure out how to add a couple of days to each week so I can do more. Any ideas?

Every time I start feeling like doing a blog post whining about winter, I read the Midwestern blogs (you, Derrick, DaveO & Ron's Kayak Stuff mostly). And then for good measure a visit to the Canadian CKayaker.

After that I usually find something other than "boo hoo it's 37 degrees outside" to whine about!

:D

It's not practical to meet at Steve's. Besides, Derrick was just there. Bonnie's place would require JB, Derrick and myself to travel. So, we all meet at Derrick's and go to the pool twice a day. Bring the SOF's amd clean your boats before putting them in the pool.

Hadas, we can send you enough snow to last for a year.

yeah, you can all come over here. We'll hang out in the warm pool and roll to our hearts content. Then make a quick rush through the snow fall to the cars to drive to a quiet pub to warm up . . .

Steve can come too. . .ah but you have to bring Hadas with you!
