So-so Pics...
Great Memories

I've spent an enormous amount of hours behind a camera, often under a cloth. I've traveled the US to workshops on large format photography and have been to the homes of Ansel Adam's students to learn the craft of fine art Black and White photography (I even got to visit Ansel's darkroom...but I digress). In the basement, and elsewhere around my house, I have boxes of mounted 4x5 toned prints stored. They are on archival museum boards and certain to last a lot longer than I will. I must pull them out and look at them again soon (note to self: save this for snowy day this winter). It is more likely, however, that I will first pull out the "snapshots" of the past. Those are the low-on-the-totem pole-of-art pics that are priceless for the memories they bring. Like the class above of Caribou Coffee managers.Loving memories of daughters (3 weeks before the youngest is to be married....where did the time go?).Or standing among the giant tribe of Lady Linda's nephews.Or that shot of our boy scout group meeting at my house (X marks the silbs...no comments thank you). And, of course, a classical image of the elegant style of my mentor, JB. Screw art. I'll take the memories.

Paddle safe...
